Leave iptables on and port forward with SSH to localhost. Same thing people do with elasticsearch or other non-authenticated services. These are early stage projects. The ones that stick around will get more enterprise-y over time.

Maybe not in large cities with some sort of oversight but in small rural towns with only 2 or 3 cops, it helps pay for their jobs and keeps them employed.

Even if all the different services worked on all your devices, searching through different apps is already a pain. I don't keep track of who owns what content. How are consumers suppose to know which app to search in when looking for a mo

Why is this bad? If I put an address in Google, I expect a Google Map. I don't want them to send me to MapQuest.
