And if anyone didn’t watch GN’s video on it, it’s thousands of pages of text requiring a button press to scroll each. It’s designed for no one to read. We should have laws that limit this kinda of “agreements”

Same, I’d rather not use them but there’s really not much else out there that can offer what Cloudflare does for the price (free). In particular I love the free egress from backblaze. I’d gladly jump ship if there was a competent competitor

Didn’t that id verification service that just had the massive breach also say similar about data retention? Doesn’t matter if they delete if the data is being intercepted somewhere along the line.

It’s far from dead. All of the AI models struggle with creativity and consistency. There’s always going to be a market for well designed UX.

I actually found this out by accident. I set up a BT proxy to capture my combustion thermometers and saw eufy show up as an option and was like wait what? Honestly surprised how open it is.

That’s where the input event is really useful as it allows for more input options than just keyboard and then you don’t have to deal with figuring out if it’s down or up.

Docker itself is such a massive security problem. Like it’ll punch through your firewall. Found out the hard way after a misconfigured redis was exposed to the web.

I’m paying 100 bucks for 2.5gb fiber in socal. I don’t consider that expensive either. I’ve seen internet prices internationally and they kinda suck outside of some areas that have decent providers - but that goes for the US too.

The people that act like the fediverse died never really used to begin with. Or they’re the kind of people that expect to be able to blast out marketing posts and get instant feedback. My mastodon feed is really busy with way higher quality

I t Looked into the OTC ones and it does seem they’re binned versions. The failure rate appears to be higher too, which is more acceptable in a non life threatening device. It also probably gives the companies really valuable data.

If your setup runs everything in forced hdr you won’t notice. OSes like MacOS will map sdr making everything look dim that’s not hdr.

It’s bad because it dims the entire display. You’re assuming your app is more important than whatever else might be displayed. It can also take a bit for the os to go back to the sdr state. I’ve had a few cases where safari gets stuck in hd
