I had mine in 2006 at 32. Details http://davidcrow.ca/article/1130/barcamper Make sure you go your an annual check up. Figure out how to get some exercise. And pay attention to the warning signs. Worst part for me

The article should have in the header a canonical URI that points to Jesse's original post. My bad if the template doesn't have this explicitly.

I like the idea of putting founders into a cyclotron, accelerating them to near the speed of light, and seeing what kind of energy they release when they collide with other founders.

It's really clean. The LeapJS/AngularJS touchpoints look like they just make sense.

Looks very interesting. Similar but with additional widgets that aren't in TogetherJS. Interesting to use eventing model and tie it more directly to lead scoring and qualification.

I love all of the "arm chair CEOs" that assume by getting on a plane that they'll meet PMarcA in the SFO airport, they will raise $50MM on their idea and their good looks. Raising money is hard. Building a company is hard. It doesn't matter

I have had my say on the broker model http://startupnorth.ca/2012/09/26/brokers-smokers-and-midnig... Which is different than pay to pitch. Pay to pitch is broken for investment. It works for PR and attention, I.e., Demo.com, but I hate i

I'm reminded of Andrew Chen's post on Facebook DAU/MAU number http://andrewchen.co/2012/05/16/quora-has-facebooks-daumau-a... Part of the reason that email is so sticky is that it has an incredibly high DAU.

I'm biased. Been a early team addition at a company that raised $500k from Celtic House in mid-00s. No fees on that raise. I have also raised from IAF, and from larger angel groups in the US. No fee as percentage of the transaction taken. C

I dislike the pay-to-pitch immensely. I think it is also the consulting fee and transaction charges on the capital raised. This is such a non-entrepreneur friendly way to facilitate early-stage capital. I can't believe that the "angels" or

Sorry, see previous comments about system configuration. I had removed WP-SuperCache. Have also upgraded memory and adding a varnish caching layer for future.

Sorry, I messed up. My configuration was substandard this morning. Upgraded the memory available to the WP & MySQL instances. Turned on WP-Supercache. And adding a Varnish layer in front.

Agreed. 100%. It prays on desperate entrepreneurs that will do anything to keep their businesses alive. And it's wrong, for so many reasons.

We need to break the culture of entitlement that seems to run rampant with Canadian wannabe founders. I'm tired of the broken record, "people won't fund me therefore there is no capital". There is no capital for shit ideas and even less cap

@bwertz ranks as a 3 out 5 on his scale. Jeesh, this might be why I'm not a successful entrepreneur - I figure I score a 2 maybe a soft 3. Time to evaluate the missing pieces.
