systemd is still GPL (LGPL to be exact) so if you truly want to get rid of the "GNU" in "GNU/Linux" you might want to take a look at the rust-coreutils for a starter

I'm pretty sure you didn't design, assemble and field-terminate DAC cables. These are not regular RJ45 or DB25 serial cables, which you can assemble in the field. I have never heard of the possibility to field-assemble DAC cables.
