Yes that is the SBB in Switzerland but they do not turn the lights, instead they turn on the heaters for the track switches. Not sure if that is all rumours.

For solar excess charging I use evcc.io When I charge the car via battery then only down to ~75% for now. The remaining energy is needed by the house during winter months.

I also have a pihole in my network and it blocks 30% of all requests. But for TV I use a NEC MultiSync ME501 50“. A dump display. Use it my home gym for Zwift and workout displays.

same here! Until 2008/2009 I ran FreeBSD 5/6 on one of my internal business SCSI RAID servers, AKA home business cloud ;-) Compiled it myself, compiled PHP/MySQL/Apache, tweaked it and it always worked.
