He's definitely instrumental in what's called the "mundane" singularity, if the tech one doesn't happen.

Even if he has, I'm sure he will prioritize his vision of gameplay over realism. He's already demonstrated that by mentioning cloaking fields.

Can you simply change the account information to, for example, help your parents stop junkmail to their address? If so, make sure to advertise that you can help others do this in addition to your home address.

I was hoping this would be a system that determines what kind of faces go with different kinds of names, like "Hm, he doesn't really look like a Steve."

Thankfully this takes "audience" out of the equation.

This is where I am. All of the techniques in the article sounded familiar to me because, thankfully, I do them intrinsically. What I need are ways to stay interested in a given project. Any suggestions?

I'm disappointed in the number of people commenting on HN that assume AI = robotics. A true AGI will solve robotics itself whether it's already instantiated in a robotic form or not.

There is no reason to believe the first AGI will be anthropomorphic (or even... animorphic(?)). Blue Brain is not the only path to AGI, and "raising" or "training" may have no analogues. http://lesswrong.com/lw/rm/the_design_space_of_minds

What's the chance of this kind of thing occurring and simultaneously NOT requiring a new test anyway?

How much of the fun of this game is dependent on geographical location? Would it be worth playing at all in small towns/cities? Similarly, how would having friends you see every day playing affect it?

This would be a lot more difficult if it weren't for the sound and image - it occupied parts of my mind that would go crazy without any stimulation for that long.

The dev seems pretty devoted, and also very vocal on his Facebook page at least. There's already an update waiting for review at Apple. Hopefully we're in for some good additions soon.
