From looking at their website, that is 8 years of software updates. Not 8 years of Android version updates. Apple has released security updates for 10 year old devices such as iOS 12.5.7 which released in 2023 and runs on iPhone 5s.

The sell but Apple makes around twice as much from services as they do from Mac. Wearables are even bigger than Mac. And within Mac, 90% of sales are laptops. I don't think Apple focuses that much about desktop Macs.

GPD Pocket 3. It has an 8" screen. It is laptop form factor but the screen can be folded 180 and flat over the keyboard for use as a tablet. Spec page says it can run Windows 11 but comes with Windows 10. https://gpd.hk/
