Just for a bit of comparison... I'm in the UK and don't drive. It is a 10-min walk to a big Tesco superstore, which is really convenient. It is on my commute too (which I also walk, Uber if its raining heavily).

I'm at exactly the same point with mine, it still feels like new even though it is nearly 5 years old. I have yet to update beyond Monterey though (even though I really should) in case it slows down a bit or the battery life isn't
