   Is it worth mastering? No. Worth understanding? Yes. Regex is used in so many applications and commands, it would be silly not to learn it. You don't need to be a wizard, but do understand the basics and it will get you far.

   I've messed around with golf for about a year or two before getting serious this summer. Lessons made the biggest improvement. After I had a rough idea from the lessons, reading really made me understand the hows and whys. This should help

    Also, use PIP and VirtualEnv! Makes deps and packages so easy. Especially with virtualenvwrapper.

    It's something people working on projects at BigCo's do in lieu of actual work. It's pantomiming execution instead of executing. This is, generally, how I feel about ToDo lists.
