Desire doesn’t really matter. Will the paper clip maximizer “desire” something? It’ll decide on a goal with some random heuristic and then pursue that goal. I’m not sure I’d call that desire but again I feel like desire is not important for

I would guess that so far there hasn’t been a lawsuit because HuggingFace and OpenAI are in the same camp

True enough, depends how good your house electricity panel and wiring is. My basic plugs have 230V x 10A fuses so it would definitely take it to the limit. I also have some 16A which should be fine but I’d have to unplug one of the washing

My love for the craft has been slowly dwindling for the last 15 years but since AI it’s totally crashed. I’m still doing it for the paycheck but not much of it is enjoyable at this point

Really just the GPUs. PSUs aren’t that expensive maybe 100-200 for a good 750W-1000W one

I’m not sure what their valuation was but single digits millions sounds totally reasonable for a company you’re describing. Just to hire 10 engineers you’ll need to be in low millions

Does anything need to be transferred? If models are getting smarter then I would think the attack surface and its ability to reach conclusions independently are growing

This kind of seems like an impossible mission. How do you perfectly control and observe a human-level mind? You can “roll back” but how deterministic is this thing?

Most big tech use LLMs to write most if not all of their code in current year. I have many negative things to say about it but if you think LLMs with a good harness can’t make anything that works you’re plain wrong. We’re shipping AI author

Seems like that’s more the norm than not. You have a few great games in you and then you’re kind of out of ideas or the unique thing you brought gets diffused into the genre. Romero was one of the first ones to go through that. Has anyone o
