I just finished Hot Zone by Richard Preston, which is about some of the origins of Ebola and an example case of potential disaster being thwarted by the hair of our chin. Fun read.

So to be certain, using these drivers in subsequent releases should be done with caution. Are there any plans to add testing for these specific drivers/hardware?

What level of support is being guaranteed to the drivers that upstream has stopped supporting? If a bug crops up, does AlmaLinux intend to patch things in-house? Disclaimer: I volunteer my time at AlmaLinux/am part of the project.

I want to say a few years ago there was a "positive" verdict in a jurisdiction in Texas which set precedent which is why you see filings over there. Let me see if I can find a reference and I'll update this comment. EDIT h

I believe so - they're owned by the same company and it wasn't disclosed properly leading to some trust issues. Additionally there seems to be a lot of co-mingling between the companies in regards to code bases and signing practic
