The author seems more than ok with receiving these types of comments and almost seems to be fishing for them... Great writeup, but the number of times he's mentioned that it would be 'ok' to thank him or give him praise seems

Definitely sounds like a good idea. Man, there are so many improvements I wish HN would make, but everytime I see a good idea, it gets completely ignored, downvoted into oblivion, or removed by the mods.

Agreed. Not sure why the top post ITT is a rant about copyright law vs trademark laws. @futurestack never claimed legal rights to the name, he's just saying that what New Relic did was a total dick move.
