If you go to enterprise storage, then you can get 16TB SSD though. It is not comparable.

Appraise for the effort. But I do not know why anybody did this kind of tedious job. Isn't it enough to do with Verilog / VHDL to fully understand basic architecture of CPU?

At the very beginning, Google advertises it as custom domain service. And I joined due to the feature (I can get my domain email without any harassment of setting the email server). Later Google changed it to business oriented and abandoned

NVMe added feature of HMB (Host Memory Buffer) to use host DDR rather than internal RAM. So, I think this chip used HMB feature.

But I think most of the manufacturers, and OS providers (MS, Google, Apple) mandates there essential apps pre-installed and cannot delete it entirely. If you blames Google, I think you also needs to blame all the above companies in addition

I am eager to get the Waze for Android Auto. Google Maps navigation always takes around 15 min more than estimation in bay area at commute time.

Designing hardware is done by Visio and Excel not Verilog. Verilog is just an implementation. :) Added: Visio is to draw timing diagram, block diagram, and flow chart. Excel is used for designing FSM next state logic / output.

It is really hard to believe that OpenCAPI can achieve this short latency with 25Gbps per lane interface and off-chip connectivity.

Still, many devices weren't able to fully utilize PCIe bandwidth and also latency. Turn around time is 1us to 1.5us for typical PCIe IP. IMO, I'm a little bit pessimistic for OpenCAPI to reduce this latency much, unless it directl

I might be wrong. But if they automated the flow from RTL to GDS, the timing might not be optimal. I understand since they have lack of resources so that this is unavoidable but in normal chip design flow, the backend timing ECO is critical

2) ECC , IMHO, is useless on personal laptop. Error rate is quite low that "opportunity cost" is too high. Except that, MBPr is proper solution. So, let's hope Apple to solve your USB3 port issue. (you can report, by the way)

I agree. This reason made me to create new gmail account in order to use Project Fi. I really don't understand why Google releases product for gmail user only. They advertised google apps for work as custom domain at first.

Agreed for JIRA and Confluence. They are quite hard to set correctly and use correctly. I'd like to +1 for slack. Simple to use and manageable without much knowledge.

you overlooked refresh time, which is around 7~8 ms. So, in order to keep the DRAM data alive, DRAM should consume a few tenths of Watt per Gigabyte per second, it is considerable amount of power.
