The headline as written should surprise no-one. Anyone receiving free money would probably have their life improved along some dimension, even if it just means they're not doing as many dangerous things to get money to buy more drugs.

Anyone that is surprised by this behavior from AWS probably has very little experience using it. The whole console is full of dark pattens to get you to setup larger than needed defaults and accidentally leave things running.

Some of them definitely used ChatGPT, I can see the signs of it. But that doesn't explain why I received 100s of applications this time around vs maybe a dozen or so before.
