Trains are great, but they can only go where tracks go. Planes are faster, too, noting that boarding times can dilute that. Trains are perfect for freight and super frequent routes, though.

The video cites the large number of existing flights that are short enough for the electric. I am not sure they should be judged based on whether they make air travel more appealing overall - making it cheaper and lower emission is plenty.

I agree that hindsight is doing work here, but DeepSeek R1 from Jan 2025 seemed to heavily leverage distillation, and 18 months is an eternity in this climate.

For super simple programs, yes, this doesn't make sense. For very complicated programs, the generated code would begin to look like spaghetti so fine that it begins to look like weights.
