It's only a parser - it just transforms plain source code into an abstract syntax tree representation. However, if you wanted to, you could use this tree for a variety of things - including translating and generating compiled code.

I like the idea of the site, very interesting. As a suggestion, how about a haskell.micro-optimization.com, rb.micro-optimization.com, or py.micro-optimization.com? I feel like this could be a nice resource if it included more languages.

Personally, I think Python is a great place to start. It's an easy, simple, clear language, and it lets you get stuff done quickly. Plus, it's relatively quick for being a dynamic language and has a lot of high quality (and free) books/gui
