Created a bunch of bad designs that haunt me to this day on the Internet archive. I don't think I've gotten really good at design over the years but I make less crappy sites now. Being able to design and code whether your a dev or designer

We typically only do 15 or 30 day post launch warranties at no cost especially with native mobile apps as things can break with OS upgrades that may be unforeseen. For our retainer (maintenance) agreements, it's based on a black of time per

PayPal is not as crooked as people say they are. Just start a company with someone in he US. Payments go,to their company and they pay you. Assuming its a legit business "don't know how I made" 200k doesnt sound legit.

It seems there is a fair amount of devs willing to do this and from what I can see a fair amount of people who would invest in projects. Wouldn't it make sense to pool a small amount of $2-5k investments from a number of individuals who all

If this was answered, I can't find it. - At $5k / 50%, who is covering the costs of creating a separate entity (LLC formation)? - What happens in the event that the project is completed in time, but the addl $3k spent to acquire enough cust

Are there known user agents that you can identify as coming from the scrapers? If so, you either block that way and not worry about IP addresses or choose to disable Google Analytics on those requests so it doesn't skew GA data.

This is confusing. Are you concerned that blacks aren't doing what you think they should be doing or upset that you are not getting coverage for your site? Since this is HN and you're clearly looking for feedback... Don't sell $10 stickers

I run a site that generates 300m pvs on mobile web, 100m pvs on desktop with 2.7m uniques every month (I believe this is actually substantially higher but not fully tracked in Google Analytics for some reason).

Our policy is 50% upfront before any concept meetings even begin and 50% upon completion before we deliver and launch their site. We never do Net terms anymore in the 15 years building web and mobile apps. We sometimes get the "accounting

The easiest thing to do is to sketch it on a piece of paper and show it to someone. Thats perhaps one of the most basic ways to validate a concept. I've read some stories where an entire app was sketched on paper and demonstrated to other

We've have some big pitfalls in the past when outsourcing relatively minor components of much larger projects to India and Eastern Europe. Even with the best technical documents, results have varied from ok to simply bad coding practices.
