No maintenance and self driving is disabled. If sensors aren't working then self driving will be disabled, if currently in use then some kind of safe mode should be available to safely stop the car.

What exclusive IP? What's being discussed is "non-exclusive access " to IP. Meaning that Google/Alphabet can make use of that IP and HTC can still use it or license it to other companies.

Any company can install a reporting agent on their desktops and that will collect basic information like what .exe files have been executed. Once a portable app shows up in the reports you are simply fired by blatant disregard for the rules

You messed up something. My 1700 and Asus B350 Prime were able to POST without issues and without any BIOS updates, and I got both a couple of weeks after release. Most BIOS updates have only been required for overclocking improvements.

The permission model in Android changed in Android 6. Apps using the sdk that was released with Android 6 will have to ask users for permissions as well. I expect that eventually older SDK's will stop working on modern Android.
