I don't think so... but it's an interesting question. As you can see from the recent experience of SF in the article, it's clear that they city is using fines to fill it's coffers. Would a progressive tax on speeding fines be a good idea?

That's a good idea. I regularly see people just dropping stuff they don't want to do. One could just create a simple algorithm to work through say a client services team.

the biggest thing for me that basecamp is missing is email. I would want to have a direct integration into my email, so I can set tasks and organize projects directly from there. I think the likes of producteev and taskforceapp.com are prob

Union's are only a good idea in situations where collective bargaining is valuable. I believe that programmers already have such a unique skill, that is extremely un-commoditized, that it seems unnecessary.

I agree, it is coming up a lot. I think it's because, when I'm working; in the same way skype, IM, and email are on my desktop so should a productivity tool.
