there are multiple apps i have encountered that would not let you type in a phone number to start a chat. you HAVE to give contact access and have whatever number you wanted to chat with saved as a contact

it really is just the foreign aspect of it. the meta apps, google apps, uber, etc all do the exact same things. They just aren't owned by a foreign nation

would be nice, but garmin inReach is very specific in their wording to make sure you know that if you don't have an active subscription, your SOS call will NOT work. Subscription is the standard now so doubt apple would do differently

in the heat, I wouldn't want thick merino wool on. and in my experience, any thin thread 100 ones don't last that long even when babied. I do like thicker ones for the winter as base layers though
