I think by limiting the usage other countries will start looking for alternatives, since you wont have access to the best models or you can be without any model in case the gov decides.

I think there is a bit of positioning too. I think Claude positioned as enterprise while chatgpt as consumer. Enterprise costumers pay, consumers maybe, there is more churn, personal taste etc it is way more complicated to win in the consum

The thing with news is how fresh it is and with AI you can make it very personal. So I would add a layer of personalization and maybe reference picks by people that are similar to the user
