I think the major different between that and KI is that the the Night-Vision is mostly static and knowable through experience/teaching, while KI is an ever moving target where you experience is zero on every new display/question.

Not really in the sense that the owning company has managed to survive without the state stepping in and give them money. Most reactors are old and in need of repair, most of these earlier than planned afaik. There is also the bigger issue

I think a good example of boring vs old is wireguard. Wireguard is a pretty simple vpn to setup, has a very predictable and stable behaviour which makes it boring, but it's fairly new compared to other vpn software.

to be fair that sleep/suspend issue is with any amd cpu running kvms. I have a desktop system with a newish amd cpu and had the same issues as discussed on the github issue.
