Anyone who has transitioned from programming job to a managerial role, how did you do it? Do you recommend going back to school for an MBA? Would love to hear suggestions.

For clarification, I'm not friends with the authors and learned something new in every chapter as an intermediate Django developer.

I just read Two Scoops of Django and wished I read it when I first started developing Django apps. Highly recommended. https://django.2scoops.org/ HN discussion: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5074026

I recently spent 2 month in Medellin working on my startup. I think it's a great city for bootstrapping a business. $800 for a room is a little too much but the apartment looks great. Good luck!

You're right. It should've been "Spanish is the second most natively spoken language in the world, after Mandarin Chinese." From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_language

You said you have ideas and savings. Here's my suggestion: 6) Keep your job and build your MVP in a few months. Then apply for Start-Up Chile in June. ( http://www.startupchile.org/ )

When I moved to Canada I felt the opposite culture shock :) Trust was everywhere, I was shocked to see in Vancouver, skytrain fairs were just checked randomly and rarely. What would you recommend for accommodation? Do you think it's better

Thanks for the information. Did you stay after the 6 months? It's probably cheaper to live there than North America, so do many companies prefer to continue working in Santiago?
