I have seen phrases with "earns its keep" a lot when comparing different algorithms and tradeoffs. "GLM-5.2 cost $21.90, worked overnight as instructed, and earned its keep twice."

It used to be, and buying a few servers was a cheap way to get off the cloud (if you can manage them efficiently). But with RAM and other costs these days... I've had to rethink it a lot.

Same place (and only place) I've driven one. Easy stick shift, a bit underpowered for the more mountainous highways, but it was a good ride.

Is this any different than current search ads (as far as people ignoring them)? I think this is a lot better for Google. It's always at the top of the page, harder to block with an adblocker, possibly more trusted (we'll see...)

I frequently buy project car stuff on Ebay. You can find OE stuff with the part numbers scratched off that must have "fallen off the assembly line" pretty easily. Easily a few items per month between that and computer parts!

Comics need a full "image" for the page, so this is unlikely to work. Can you inspect the requests and see what you get? Or to the author: what happens to images in the ebook?

"Good" TVs are so cheap these days, that premium wouldn't be acceptable in my mind. The fix the other posters mention about banning it from the internet and just using HDMI works well enough for me.

Between this and the other compression scams mentioned in the thread, is there any connection to the show Silicon Valley? I haven’t heard of this genre of scam before but it sounds a lot like the premise of pied piper!

Same. Hit escape shortly after the page loads to stop loading whatever modal is likely blocking scroll. I don't see the modal so it's likely blocked by ublock, but still stops scroll.
