I wish I had seen this 20 years ago. I did some horrible things in c++ that I would be embarrassed to see today. It was a fun language to explore though, and I learned much from it.

If your computational load is spikey, I would suggest looking at fargate and the spot market. Also for storage, I would suggest leveraging S3 whenever possible.

Just from personal experience, Ansible is relatively simple to use, and requires minimal setup. I think some of the other alternatives might require a larger up front investment in time and capital.

I totally agree with this fustration. There seems to be some innate paradox between growing a community and being a BDFL. I think this also expresses is self in our current political environment.
