I have felt this. I also think the increase in SUVs and SUV-like cars is raising the average height of these headlamps, causing more light to hit me in my lowered sedan.

Are you sure about that? On my Mac, the full-screen overlay shows both skip and scan arrows. The windowed version normally shows just the scan arrows. You can select an option to reveal the skip arrows when windowed. In none of the scenario

You bring up an interesting comparison--it's the opposite of western chess vs. eastern go--chess pieces rest on square spaces, while go pieces rest on intersecting lines.
