Map reduce and filter often are much more readable, but then sometimes a loop is clearer. I often see this when I use resharper's (a c# tool) auto refactor a loop into a linq statement , it can become unreadable.

Some of the NHS health care is shocking. I watched my dad dying on a ward with utterly shit jobs worth nursing staff. After enough of that he ended up in ICU with great care and died. Northern Ireland's NHS is an utter shambles. 3 week

Also wages in tech in the EU are laughably bad compared to USA. I'm in the UK, same problem. Yet everyone seems to think that a couple weeks more holiday makes up for it.

Yes but it did go into decline for a while until it reinvented itself. It's lost its dominance in OSs and web browsers. Government intervention didn't cause that, free markets did.

On the programming front, I ve worked as a programmer for 12 years. I consider myself as not smart at all. I worked hard at learning my trade. I'd suggest you take things really slowly, some things you are going to have to rote learn.

I'm not anti Tory, but the crap with the "internet levy" that will be required to police "harmful content" doesn't really send signals to the rest of the world that the UK is a forward thinking future tech hub.
