In germany it's only 3 month if the employee has been in the company for 4 years. Until then it's only 1 month. Edit: Both parties can of course negotiate a bigger time frame.

I totally forgot to mention, that I use earwax or earplugs during my prime worktime (that is from 9:00 - 12:30) and often after lunch too. For me it's a blessing. Jesus christ, not hearing any background noise is a gamechanger.
