rstp-simple-server is fantastic, I use it for all kinds of stuff and appreciate how easy it is to deploy. More software should eschew having a million dependencies and focus on doing one thing WELL :)

Some friends of mine have actually made a business out of this over at http://testloft.com From what I understand the phone won't stop ringing so clearly there is strong demand for something like this out there.

I have lived there in the past. Now prefer the much-maligned suburbs (specifically, Mountain View). Uber and Lyft and self-driving cars will shortly solve drinking and driving and then my final complaint about the suburbs will be gone.

San Francisco is charming, yet now grossly-expensive. Except it's not charming at all... it's much colder than the rest of California (it honestly feels like a different planet), MUNI absolutely sucks compared to any transit system in the

Will do! I used to be pretty active in the sound scene (mostly live/acoustic recording) in the Bay but have been away for a couple years. I'm looking forward to returning and getting back into it. :)

A better question is, why don't some of the reasons that it's so great to work for Heroku symbiotically trickle up to the behemoth parent company?

Do you have any advice for someone looking to get involved (as an actor and/or a sound guy) with the Bay Area indie film scene? I was on a local mailing list for a couple years called "Low/No Budget films" or something but it seems to have

I'm really glad this is open source. I intend to make use of it in any new apps I start, and contribute back any bug fixes or improvements. As it happens, I was going to build something like that for an app I'm due to start tomorrow, but no

This makes a lot of sense. The more people use public transit (because it becomes much less painless thanks to apps like Embark), the more you reduce congestion on the road, the more fun it is to drive your BMW. Congratulations to the team!

Value is linked to price. Tesla is doing the public a disservice by encouraging the notion that the Model S starts at $49k, when it really starts closer to $70 in order to approach a conventional car in utility. Do you get $70k worth of car

Honestly, that puts it solidly into "more than I can ever imagine paying for a car" territory. It's also too big - I can't imagine street parking a behemoth like that in San Francisco. I quite like the Acura TSX - small, luxurious, $30k. I'

The $49k base price is totally misleading. To get the "supercharger" access that makes road trips possible, you're out another $12k at least ($10k 60kWh battery plus $2k "supercharger" fee). Nav is $4k. Putting the rapid charger into your h
