You can use winutil to replace the new start menu with the old one. I think the option is in "advanced tweaks". https://github.com/ChrisTitusTech/winutil

Also, am I going crazy or do the "comment" and "share" buttons under the header just tick up but don't allow you to actually do anything? This feels like a vibe-coded website but it could be Firefox being weird.

There is a great browser extension for Chrome/Firefox called "Unhook" which allows you to selectively remove parts of the YouTube UI you find distracting. Personally I have shorts and recommended videos turned off. https:&#x
