going forward also doesn't work (displays an about; page) so I am wondering if the website is using React or some other framework and the routing library is setup incorrectly, causing this.

Thank you for posting! I got a e-scooter this spring and wrote my own app for it after reverse engineering the official app + BLE logs. I am not brave enough to do anything with the firmware on it though. Maybe not yet at least

I recommend MacPorts, the migration is easy, you copy the package names you installed with brew, uninstall homebrew (there's an unisntall script on brew.sh FAQ section, it will also uninstall all homebrew packages (but not the casks))

sessions are stored in the home folder somewhere but are deleted after 30 days by default. it won't be stored in the bash history, at least it does not for me on macOS with zsh + omz
