I'm not seeing any of this on T-mobile cellualar or otherwise. This leads me to think it is either something enforced by the USA inside the USA, or something only allowed in the USA. (I'm in the EU to be specific)

I dunno, my M1 with 8GB is not even really usong swap afer a month of uptime and heavy loads memory-wise (VM's mostly). Based on other comments: try not using chrome. I don't and I have 0 issues iwht this.

I do not use Chrome and my windowserver is using 3GB after a month of uptime. I feel this is not a M1/Apple issue to be honest.
