Awesome! Thanks for putting this together. Is there any way to get non-processed image data? Without the nighttime adjustments?

Having done both web and gl ux for a living, I think you might be overestimating the complexity of a gl implementation and underestimating the complexity of meeting the same specs using a web implementation. While not quite the same thing,

As a Canadian, I can confirm 12 months is not enough let alone 6 weeks… I am deeply saddened at the thought of mothers having to go back after so little time

Im sure I’m not the only person thinking 24 years is way too long for such an important advancement. Huge respect for those in this field or others that don’t give up after so many years. Thank you

One thing I wish there was better support for is live debugging and stepping through code.

This is definitely the nicest all in one that I’ve seen yet. I guess there is a market for this somewhere but I don’t get who. At 45k though, they really should have used a mount that doesn’t suffer from field rotation on longer exposures.

I agree to some extent but large companies do staff roles that have public outreach as part of their job description. Suggesting that no one is able to say "there is an internal ticket for this" is not the full answer.

Whenever one of these threads about Google (or Apple) come up, I am shocked at the lack of response from people working at those companies. It seems reasonable that this site would be where you'd find someone from a team that interacte

They are forecasting a lower demand in the short term future. I’d guess they ran the numbers and producing fewer high cost items is more cost effective for them. Unfortunately, this likely means more shortages and costs stay high for the co

Same reason the rockets NASA uses are not reusable. It’s not part of the mission. Yes, it’s short sighted but unfortunately a result of extreme budget constraints.

Maybe something like a Bloomberg terminal on the phone? It does seem like quite a reach but I think there are a few legitimate niche markets for that price point.

This is true but the rendering engine has done the heavy lifting to map calls to the gpu correctly. More build info here: https://ebitengine.org/en/documents/webassembly.html

This should work with a ton of other cameras from roughly 2008 onwards. So long as it supports live view over usb with gphoto. The camera from this article is also known as the Canon 500 or 1000D in other parts of the world.
