Supporting an alternative OS wouldn’t change the fate of Fairphone, imo. Most people don’t care to move away from the stock version of Android that comes with their phone or iOS.

The overwhelming majority of consumers just prefer larger screens (myself included). People seem to forget that Apple releasing the Mini was them listening to the minority and the sales numbers if it were poor versus the rest of the lineup.

With 5k its 200%, with the 6K I think it was 150% or 200%. I do site closer to monitors lol, but I never bought into the “just push the monitor back” argument to simulate higher PPI, you can always tell the difference (imo).

I’m personally considering the 5K 27” 27GM950B from LG, but I’m hesitant and wonder if I should save the disappointment or inevitable and just spring for the Studio Display XDR. But its quite a jump and I don’t get paid for coding like that
