I started using xmonad about a year ago, and it's awesome (not that awesome). Going from gnome to xmonad was almost as much of an improvement as going from just one to multiple desktops. Bonus points for great support for dual monitor set

I'm pretty sure cell towers all use gps for time synchronization, which is necessary for the network to work. I always trust my cell phone time.

You're right, maybe lazy wasn't the right word. Still, the reasons for interference are more political (FCC rules), than scientific. There's only so much usable electromagnetic spectrum out there, so neighbors need to play nicely together.

I also had the Silberschatz (such a weird cover!) and Oppenheim books. I think Sedra and Smith is pretty widely accepted as the canonical introductory electronics book. Most frustrating book I had to deal with: Random Variables and Stochast

I remember this from a few years ago; hopefully it's more complete now than it was then. I stuck with Sedra and Smith. Edit: looks like there are still a lot of missing and incomplete sections in the semiconductor volume.

Of course not, that's why electronics courses generally have labs. Same deal with CS theory and application. Even then, there were definitely people who would do very well on the theory, but struggle with the labs. And vice versa.

I like the site, but I also don't like the name. It has some pretty "bro"-esque connotations. It might turn away some of your desired audience.
