It's not mandatory to buy the self driving car. They want it on the car regardless of the customer buys it or not. They have other uses for the hardware.

No. Tesla does not use Nvidia software libraries afaik. They do license the socs and gpus on a board designed by tesla. Based on the drive px1 reference design. Being changed in 6-8 months to a custom made asic made specifically for self dr

The financing would be provided by somebody else not the boring company itself. Probably a private company will get some bonds based on the project and pay for operating cost and such. Though Elon musk said he did not want public money.

I guess it's hard to awnsers have we landed and should we move the wingtips to locked positions? Airplanes afaik have no state machine that says taking off landing taxiing. They may be able to detect it by reading all different systems
