Yeah, not impressed. I think it sounds far more pretentious to refer to yourself as a CEO when you run a company of 5 people - that's always made me a bit uncomfortable. Entrepreneur denotes startup founder. Fair enough. It's more

Many (or most) of the great technology companies have technical founders that benefit tremendously from a successful exist. Equating "business guys" with "the man" who get all the benefit and engineers as the poor labor

This move is unethical for a very clear and straight forward reason. Demo Day at 500 Startups is "invite only". The YC company was not invited. People are invited for very targeted and strategic reasons. Information will get out,

Have you done an accelerator program? We did 500 Startups and while some startups obviously don't make it - I think that if you ask the founders on the whole there will be overwhelming consensus that it was extremely helpful. Any good

Author here - good point about bandwidth. We typically see that companies that can't afford to pay "x" interns typically don't have bandwidth to manage "x" interns.

Author here - The unique requirements at many Silicon Valley companies for rapidly scaling teams require robust, well paid, competitive internship programs. The famous perks at Google, Facebook, etc. definitely extend to internship programs

Author here, good question. We see that tech internships are much more likely to be paid, in large part because technology companies recognize the tremendous value of internship programs for fueling their new grad hiring.
