The author cites examples from Stripe and Pinterest, which are actually just anecdotes around usability testing, not recruitment of users. I would argue focusing on sales puts you at risk of narrowing your scope and broader appeal.

Decent article. Appalling title. There was essentially only one paragraph that dealt with the importance of a positive mood on creativity. The article outlined many other more important factors.

Yes I too was interested to know how they eliminated bias. If you were told one rat was smarter than the other, surely there's a risk of influencing the interpretation of results.

I think it's good to have a range of comments, cynical and positive. This one raised good points and is articulated well. Personally I think the app is great, but I agree on a lot of what the OP said.
