You're talking about DAME (which email uses). It has it's own issues like not having transparency logs, and if a DNSSEC signing keyholder goes rogue, there is no easy way to revoke trust (unlike CRLs for Web PKI).

the device acts as a proxy. i don't think any browser is running on the device, it is just forwarding packets.

There are a lot of similar implementations, but nothing really comes close to replicating the full mechanics of the actual game. Probably because the game is so easily decompiled that most people don’t see a need.
