Spotify aren't "logging into the users account" as suggested, the user is signing in with their fb details and by adding an app to their account fb reactivates their account. The issue here is only one of poor communication, not of illegal

Indeed, the web player isn't U.S. only, just that the beta testing currently concentrates on new users from the U.S. It is however possible to gain access - there are many guides online on how to do so.

The new app is a universal binary which also includes iPhone updates, so it might be worth downloading the update and seeing if it fixes any of your issues.

This is unfortunately so unlikely to as to be practically impossible (currently!). If the microphones, ADCs etc on both phones are incapable of capturing frequencies of above e.g. 15Khz below a certain range, combining those signals definit
