Very steep, at least in my experience. Even compared to Cinema 4D and Blender which I grasp the basic just in 1-3 days. Darktable doesn't use industry standard UI/UX so you need learning from zero.

To me Indieweb just another name for personal website or personal blog. Since it's personal, I guess people can do anything to their website, including looking for job. > Having a CV seems antithetical to the entire idea of indienes

In my experience, it's not easy as After Effects. Though for simple VFX, motion or animation is doable. For me best alternative to AE is Blender.
