No need to! ObjC developers have soldiered on for years and years without such fanciness.

I think lots of video streaming is adaptive to bandwidth, and if you have an LTE connection that can handle HD video you'll get it. Still doesn't account for why the trend is supposedly 5s specific. Perhaps because the 5s can ha

I wonder if you'd allow a pilot to use the term? They do much the same thing, of course they are actually physically present (miles above). They are, however, about as likely to be injured (in these counter insurgency operations) as

That language will be web, I suspect. Perhaps Google will offer prerolled components specifically for Android? I strongly suspect that Chrome is the platform Google wants to push for client development now, with Android essentially as a s

Why not? What if the apps are purchased seamlessly through the play store and can run on Android or in Chrome? I have a feeling they will add more and more Android device APIs to whatever is coming, until it has just as many as the Java AP

I've seen rms speak before, and one point he made really hit home. It is absolutely inexcusable for a school to teach using what is essentially a mystery black box. If a student wants to be able to open up the source code and see how thin

Yep. Say what you will about Apple products, but it's no coincidence that professional audio applications are so much more prevalent on Apple products. Core Audio is a fantastic base for developers to work with.

Not true. I live in Portland, and Alaska is the dominant airline here. I have flown with them over a dozen times, and never had a bad experience.

It's depressing how we are becoming numb to mass shootings due to their frequency. It seems like a week can't go by without a tragedy like this occurring.

I have a poli sci degree, about two years of CS at a community college. I am a techincal lead at post acquisition company, I started with them as an unpaid intern when the founders worked out of an apartment. Agree 100% about "curious peop

You are missing the real reason iPads sell well. "trendy, hip" is only part of it. Easy to use and simple is a much bigger part, and arguably contributes to "trendy, hip" more than any sort of consumer gadget fashions.

The article doesn't detail their planning, goals, etc...but it seems to me like they went all in without a solid plan. Just hoping to get rich. And it didn't happen.

Gee, I wonder why he didn't mention the maps? Apple's devices are still more compelling for me personally, but less so than they used to me. Hopefully Google builds and maintains its own iOS maps application.

It was pushed back from by end of 2012 to "sometime in 2013". And with Intel and Co's record I would not remain hopeful.

That was narrow minded. You know it's possible to be a developer and never touch a web app stack professionally, right? Let alone the One True Language that is Ruby.

The problem is the human element. If you are doing something that can in some way be construed as going against the app store guidelines, eventually you are going to get a reviewer who rejects/takes down your app. Even if other reviewers
