Neat article but I don't get two things: 1. if there are "hard rules" that always override the ranking decisions, why not weight them with a score that is greater than the total possible from the other ranking elements. E.g.

On mobile my issue is that I use the DDG browser and I'm always in the dark mode on the browser. When a page is too bright I invert the colors on my phone, but since I'm always in dark mode anyway, the extra stuff (url bar etc.) g

That sounds like a good solution but it sounds like a bit of a pain to set up on a mobile. I'll give it a try.
