If in the US, it is illegal for them to have that in the employment contract and they could be sued for that. I'm not sure how it works if it's not operating in the US, but if it's a US company, might still apply. My company

What about Stack Overflow's yearly survey? That's got a lot of people and has data for salaries by job and geography. It won't tell you where they're working, though. https://insights.stackoverflow.com/
