A morally bankrupt scientist would give AI the hands it needs. Or a military general who thinks he must use AI and any means possible to win, because his enemy may use AI first.

China is still under a communist regime, and we know how it makes society harmonious: by chopping everyone's fingers to equal length.

I noticed that LLMs prevent you from thinking on your own, or at least try to, by injecting their "helpful" suggestions when you need some idle time to think. On Amazon, for example, I was about to find something when their chatbo

This will be used to serve SEO slop. LLMs are already used as search engines and businesses really want to outrank competition by any means possible.

This is a big pile of AI slop. I doubt anyone will ever read it.

Reads like AI slop. It circles around the point, uses C# examples while talking about FPU, duplicates examples and so on.

AI is more or less a religion right now in the corporate world. Speaking against AI amounts to heresy.

To conjure fire from the skies, in other words. But the way technology works is it solves a problem by introducing other problems, and if they plan to fix cancer by messing with DNA, guess what side effects there will be.

I don't understand how the abundance of AI datacenters translates into wellbeing of common folk. Right now AI is a net negative for the people.

I think AI pictures have this soulless vibe because they are creations of Frankenstein: many pieces of other pictures stitched together in a sloppy manner. A human-made picture, even a bad one, is made by outlining an idea and the presence

IMO, cognitive athrophy is the point. If humans become dependent on AI, those corporations will get enough leverage to change laws in their favor. For example, people don't want a huge data center in the middle of their city, but the c

The financial motive must be capturing video data for AI training. Moreover, this data won't be entirely passive: the glasses can tell the user to do something and then observe how the video feed changes. The more nefarious motive is t

Modern design, especially the modern architecture, is meant to simplify people's thinking, make it bland and uniform. Look at the gray cubism around you: does it inspire any creativity? Same for interior design, cars and even the so ca

LLMs poison your mind. The more AI slop you read, the more your mind turns into something like slop. This isn't very different from the idea that the food you eat is what your body is made of.

From one perspective, AI serves as a wedge that separates those who want human culture from those who want machine culture.

Scientists seem really busy these days creating synthetic life: advances in AI, human eggs from stem cells and now this - synthetic cells. I somehow feel they are inspired by the Alien movies.

Reviewing AI slop is data labelling and it isn't very different from what people in 3rd world do labeling various images. Constant context switching is what causes the exhaustion. It's the equivalent of the 6pm stop and go traffic
