Imagine if http APIs has similar output to lsof or df -h - nobody would write a script to use them! JSON makes a lot of sense, but a human-parseable format is also needed.

I have the same problem with Gitter.im or slack for FOSS projects - quite a few communities have switched from being fórum based (and therefore the conversations are logged and indexable by search engines), to being ephemeral conversations
