I think this is to do with the ‘assisted’ component. I.e. When people need help from others to die. If the law didn’t cover this, then people who provided assistance would be open to criminal prosecution.

Yep, it's possible, but hard in practice for lots of places. London has historical parks/commons which are fantastic, but for cities which don't have many large parks, it's hard to retrofit them.
