NVIDIA's OptiX "AI-Accelerated" de-noiser has been available for some time https://developer.nvidia.com/optix-denoiser (I don't know if it's what they're referring to, though)

This type of snark comes up whenever the patent system is discussed. However, isn't the fact that this would (presumably) not be approved an argument in their favour?
