The way I position my hands over the trackpoint my thumb is already hovering over the touchpad. Having to hold down a button to scroll is terrible ergonomics.

I exclusively use the trackpoint for mouse input and configuring the edge scroll to occupy the entire touchpad meaning that I can use my thumb to scroll without moving my hand away from the trackpoint. In libinput the edge scrolling is hard

These specific ideas? To the best of my knowledge, no. Other related ideas like Nix/NixOS/Guix are solving some of the same problems outlined in the article in a much more systematic way that are not reliant on any one file system

Imho all these tools like nvm, rvm etc are deeply flawed and doesn't really do their jobs all that well. Where I work we use the nix package manager. Making sure your team is using the same version of node is just a few lines of config

No sadly Opensnitch is dead. Evilsocket for whatever reason went back to OSX and I (who was the other large contributor) did not feel the motivation to work on the project anymore.
