Make sure your folders are configured for “general” files and not “photos” or other metadata consuming options. I had a similar issue and this resolved it.

I don’t see how anyone can have this opinion. If you are producing code for which VS was designed (.net for example) it is obviously and definitely one of the greatest IDEs ever produced. If you are having to fight with VS, then you may not

I maintain a similar system, where a variety of companies submit files that get processed through multiple services - it is astounding how ridiculous people’s naming of files can be; spaces are the least concerning!

See I genuinely wouldn’t mind a reminder email, if that email gave me any information (or links to it) but instead it gives me no context for their costs or how donations will be used. How far does google’s millions of dollars go? Etc.
